Byron Fang holds a driver's licence issued for Miami with the number F520 0629 31010 0. The licence is valid through October 2032. This credential is foundational to the operation of BF Guide Service, allowing safe transport of anglers to and from fishing locations and navigation of the diverse waterways that make Miami's fishing scene so unique.
A valid driver's licence is essential for anyone operating a guide service that requires vehicle and vessel transportation. For Byron, it underscores the professionalism and legal compliance that goes into every trip, from the initial pickup to the boat launch and back again.
When you book a charter with BF Guide Service, Byron will pick you up and transport you to one of Miami's prime fishing locations—whether that's a launch point for the saltwater flats, a canal access for freshwater sight fishing, or a backcountry staging area. The driver's licence is part of the infrastructure that makes these trips run smoothly and safely from start to finish.
Byron uses real-time conditions and local knowledge to choose the best launch locations for your target species and skill level. Having a valid driver's licence means he can navigate between multiple launch points, adjust routes based on weather or fishing activity, and get you to the water quickly so you maximize your time actually fishing.
BF Fishing Tours operates from Miami, offering sight-fishing charters across freshwater canals and saltwater flats. All trips are guided by Byron aboard an 18-foot Floyd 10 WT technical poling skiff equipped with a Suzuki 90 outboard, Garmin GPS, Minn Kota I-Pilot trolling motor, Power Pole, and push pole. The boat is designed for shallow-draft access to skinny water where you can sight fish with precision.
Available trips include the Miami Backcountry Fishing Charter (6 hours, Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 AM start) targeting peacock bass, largemouth bass, snakehead, and clown knifefish in freshwater. For saltwater, the Miami Flats Fishing Charter runs full-day (8 hours, Saturdays and Sundays) with opportunities for bonefish, permit, redfish, and tarpon depending on the season.
Land-based freshwater trips are also available as 4-hour private outings, with separate beginner and pro angler options. The Miami Backcountry Sight Fishing Guided Trip (4 hours, Friday through Sunday, 8:00 AM start) combines both freshwater and saltwater sight fishing in a single outing. All gear is included—light spinning setups, fly rods and reels, baitcasters, tackle, bait, ice, and water. You only need to bring your fishing licence and personal items.
Florida requires anglers to carry a valid fishing licence. You can obtain one through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission before your trip, or ask Byron about temporary options if you're visiting the state. This is separate from Byron's driver's licence and is your personal authorization to fish in Florida's waters.
Trips depart early, so plan to arrive with time to spare. Bring sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, and a camera if you want to capture the action. The skiff provides a solid casting platform and plenty of room to move, but wear non-slip shoes and dress in layers since morning temperatures on the water can be cool before the sun climbs higher. Byron will brief you on the day's plan, the target species, and the techniques you'll use—whether that's spinning, baitcasting, or fly casting.
Miami's fishing season runs year-round, with different species active at different times. Peacock bass and snakehead thrive in the freshwater canals nearly all year. Saltwater species like tarpon and permit have seasonal peaks, while bonefish and redfish are consistent targets. Byron adjusts launch locations and timing based on current conditions, so the trip is customized to maximize your chances of success on the days when you're available.
